Friday, November 28th

Message from Chris:

Eunice and I had visitors from Oklahoma today (Marven and Vera Janzen). They have been our 'Barnabas' couple for 30 years, and were visiting children in Ft. Worth. What a great surprise and blessing when they walked in! Yesterday we were so pleased to visit with Janice and Larry Ganje from our home church. We were able to go outside for a while and enjoy the warm Texas weather. There are baby steps of progress still being made daily, including reduced brain swelling, occupational and physical therapy, and many reminders of God's faithfulness and goodness to us. We were supplied with a dose of Christmas cheer today as we learned of our two daughters putting up decorations and we hope to share Christmas with them, either here or at home, as the Lord wills.

My sister and brother-in-law are trying to make the most suitable arrangements for my oncology radiation treatments over the next 6 weeks. It may involve an apartment or commute from their home, we don't know what. Please pray for guidance as we make many decisions in coming days regarding treatment, location, family, etc. Each and every prayer, card, phone call and expression of love has truly ministered to our hearts and softened a difficult time. We agree with Paul's expression to the Philippians, "I thank my God in all my remembrance of you." (Phil. 1:3)

It is an answer to pray to see you (Chris) able to write. Praise God for that. We continue to pray for you and would like to see you at Christmas, too. We will continue to pray for you and your family.

Dear Chris & Enice,
We missed you in Sunday School Class today. We are so happy to hear that you are leaving the hosital. We know God worked mightily through you with all the people you touched. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all the time.
You mentioned being on Decadron. My dad was on that medication for a while and it made him chattier than a magpie. I loved driving him back and forth to North Platte because he told me stories about his life I had never heard before. It was a blast and really drew us closer. I hope you are finding blessings along way as well.
Now, for some really good news that I couldn't tell anyone till after Thanksgiving. David and Dawn (and God) are making us grandparents in July! You are among the first to know because you have also been the first to know so many "other" things going on in our family. It was time for some good news!
You also need to know that Josh has completed his second ten week session in culinary school with perfect attendance and straight A's. We are so thankful for his time with you Chris.
Well, I must close and get to chior practice.
Love and hugs,
Karen for the Salyer family

Hey there,
How about those Huskers! We hope those Texans down there let you view some of your favorite Husker team manhandling (?) those Colorado Buffs Friday. Also we are so sorry to see that those fiesty Jayhawks shredded those paper Tigers of Missouri. Apparently even Chase and company can be tamed!

You'll be glad to know El Puerto is still hanging on even without its' best and most frequent paying customer. In keeping with the Atkins tradition the Burrows, Bednars and us escorted Lauren and Bethany to that fine establishment. The excellent Mexican cuisine was enjoyed by all; however we may have been a little too rowdy. But that is part of the traditon, right?

We continue to lift you and Eunice up to our heavenly Father many times throughout each day. We're praying for definite direction concerning the options before you in the days ahead. We are glad and encouraged that you are going to be or have been released from the hospital. We pray that you will find His grace sufficient each and every day. 2 Cor 12:9-10

Love, Dave and Jan

CJ is doing well and even got into his wheelchair today. He will have his IV treatment the next two days and then we get to go home.I know you both are ready to come home also. What a joyous day it will be! I will have been gone 3 weeks and it seems like 3 years. We continue to pray for you and your family and I know God has a plan in all of this. God Bless, Toni

Pastor Chris! I will uphold you and your family before our gracious and powerful Father!
I am a former cornhusker who just moved from Dallas to York, NE. I know lots of folks who could easily provide assistance to you.

Could I have some preaching CD's sent to you or have a pastor stop by?

Incidentally, my nephew and his wife, Josh and Suzanne Graves, attend your church and really enjoy it-they're growing like weeds!

Warmly,
Brad Johnson

Dear Ones,
I don't know if any of your options include returning to McCook and getting treatment in North Platte, but maybe that wouldn't be a good idea. If you showed up here, you'd be hugged to death. We all miss you so much. We haven't stopped praying. In fact, I think God is doing something wonderful in that arena. The Tuesday night prayer meetings have been growing and I'm seeing alot of transparency, so see.....God is turning bad to good already. We're expecting miracles all around. You are loved, Gary and Barb
